Class Options & Exam Structure

Classical (Comprehensive & Repertoire combined)
At SAPA, we teach both streams together as they develop the same core classical skills and repertoire. The difference lies in the exam format:

  • Comprehensive exam:

    • 3 pieces

    • Technical work (scales)

    • Aural tests

    • Sight reading

    • General knowledge`

  • Repertoire exam:

    • 4 performance pieces only

    • No technical or supporting tests

Piano for Leisure (flexible, mixed styles)

  • 4 pieces

  • Technical work

  • Sight reading or aural test

Students progress through the grades at their own pace, building technique, confidence, and musical expression.

EMILY

“These classes brought me to love music again.  I am very grateful to be a SAPA student”

LOTTE

“Playing the piano with my left hand has really improved, going from one note to the next is much better now.  This has helped my confidence so much”

PARENT

"Savanah Academy of Performing Arts is a great music school. Chloe (the director) is a dynamic music teacher who works hard to bring out the best in her students. Classes with Chloe at SAPA helped my daughter continue to improve her piano skills and prepare well for her AMEB exams. She is enjoying her classes and never wanted to miss any. SAPA continuously seeks opportunities to present students' performances in public events which helps the students to combat stage fright. SAPA provides amazing customer service. It's very organised and very quick in their responses. I wish Chloe and SAPA team all the best :)"
